Bournemouth is the greenest town in the South with 10 of its parks and green spaces retaining their prestigious Green Flag Awards for 2008/09. Green Flag winners from around the country will celebrate their achievements at a Green Flag Award Ceremony and Exhibition to be held in Liverpool at the end of the month.

Councillor Beverley Dunlop, Cabinet Member for the Economy and Tourism said; "This years 10 Green Flag Awards for Bournemouth are a well earned recognition of the hard work, pride and dedication of the people within the Council and community, who help to maintain and develop our green spaces throughout the year for everyone to enjoy. We set ourselves very high standards and it is fantastic that this is reflected in our Green Flag achievements."
